An unknown armed man killed a tribal elder in Khuzdar town of Pakistan, media reports said on Sunday.

According to the police, the victim, identified as Mir Kamran Khan Jattak, was sitting at a hotel in the Chamrok area along the Quetta-Karachi National Highway with friends when the assailant opened fire with an automatic weapon, reported Dawn News.

Jtak died instantly after sustaining multiple bullet wounds.

The attacker escaped from the spot.

Polie moved the tribal elder's body to the district hospital in Khuzdar where the doctors confirmed his death.

Police told Dawn News that an “old enmity could not be ruled out” as a possible motive.
