South Waziristan: Thousands of people on Friday reached the streets of  South Waziristan’s Wana region in Pakistan to protest against  recent wave of terrorism in the area, media reports said.

The protesters also demanded immediate restoration of peace in the area.

The protest comes as terrorism is again rearing its head in the country, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, reports Dawn News.

Pakistan has seen a rise in terrorist attacks across the country, believed to have been planned and directed by the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leaders based in Afghanistan, the Pakistani newspaper reported.

The TTP has an ideological linkages with the Afghan Taliban.

It even executed 100 attacks in the country last year.
