Pakistan: Policeman killed in Dera attack

Dera Ismail Khan: Unidentified assailants have opened fire and killed a police constable in Prova police station limits in Dera Ismail Khan region of Pakistan, media reports said on Saturday.

The police told Dawn News that constable Mohammad Aslam serving at Prova police station was on way for security duty at the Benazir Income Support Programme when unidentified attackers targeted him.

The attackers also took away his official gun and then escaped from the spot.

After the incident, DSP Abid Iqbal along with a police party reached the site and started search for arrest of the attackers, while the counter-terrorism department police station registered the case against unknown terrorists.
