Pakistan: Malala, Kailash condemn terrorist attack in Peshawar school

Yousafzai  said she was heartbroken by the senseless and cold blooded act of terror.

In a statement, she said: "I am heartbroken by this senseless and cold blooded act of terror in Peshawar that is unfolding before us. Innocent children in their school have no place in horror such as this."

She said: "I condemn these atrocious and cowardly acts and stand united with the government and armed forces of Pakistan whose efforts so far to address this horrific event are commendable. I, along with millions of others around the world, mourn these children, my brothers and sisters - but we will never be defeated."

Kailash Satyarthi said the Pakistani government should take all steps to protect schools and children from violence.

"Over 100 children massacred in school in #PeshawarAttack. My heart bleeds for bereaved families. One of the darkest days of humanity," he tweeted.

"These are all our children who've been murdered today. My prayers and condolences are with the families #PakSchoolSiege #PeshawarAttack," he said.

Satyarthi posted on his Twitter homepage: "#Pakistan government must take all possible steps to protect children & schools from violence. #educationunderattack #PeshawarAttack."

"Children are the first casualty of violence and war. It is time we all came together and #PutAStop to this violence. #PeshawarAttack," the Nobel Prize winner appealed people.

Pakistan's Malala Yousafzai and India's Kailash Satyarthi have emerged as peace icons since winning the Nobel Prize this year.

n one of the deadliest attacks in recent times, Tehreek-e-Taliban terrorists claimed the lives of at least 132 people including 100 students after they stormed into the Army Public School and College in Pakistan's Peshawar city on Tuesday morning, latest media reports said.

Among those killed, 100 were school students, reports said.

About 245 other students and teachers have suffered injuries while some of them are in a serious condition.

The Taliban terror outfit claimed the responsibility of the attack and said it is a response to the Pakistan Army’s military operation in North Waziristan launched in June this year.

According to reports, six estimated terrorists stormed into the school and targetted the children.

All of them have been gunned down by the security forces, Pakistan Police confirmed.
