Pakistan: Lack of teachers force Sindh’s 6,866 public schools to shut down
Islamabad: The Sindh High Court (SHC) was recently informed that 6,866 public schools across the province have been closed due to lack of teachers, media reports said.
Apart from them, 7,974 schools remained unviable.
The school education secretary also informed the SHC that posts of 32,510 primary school teachers and 14,039 junior elementary school teachers are vacant in different districts of the province, reports The News International.
He was filing comments on the identical petitions filed by rights activists and organisations seeking the implementation of the Sindh Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2013, the newspaper reported.
