Islamabad: The Imran Khan-led government in Pakistan has made it mandatory for all TV channels in the country to show the Pak political map daily before airing the 9 pm. news bulletin, media reports said on Monday.

"All the news channels (both public and private) have to flash the political map of Pakistan for 02 seconds before airing the news bulletin at 09:00 pm. on a regular basis," read Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA)'s letter, titled 'Streamlining Correct Use of Pakistan Political Map'.

The Imaran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government last year had unveiled the new political map of the country, which included the Indian UT of Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan.

The approval was given in a Cabinet meeting chaired by PM Imran Khan earlier during which the participants were apprised of the latest situation in the "occupied Muslim-majority region", according to Geo News.
