Pakistan: Explosion in a sewerage line leaves three hurt

Karachi: An explosion in a sewerage line in Mehmoodabad area of Pakistani city of Karachi on Friday left three people injured, media reports said.

A statement from Mehmoodabad Station House Officer Aijaz Pathan said the blast occurred in a sewerage line at Parsi Gate due to the accumulation of gas, reports Dawn News.

A motorcycle mechanic shop that was situated on the sewerage line also collapsed, according to the statement.

The injured people were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.

A bomb disposal squad reached the spot later.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
