Pakistan: Authority cancels land allotted for temple in Islamabad

Islamabad/IBNS: The City Development Authority (CDA) in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, has cancelled a step to allot land for a temple, media reports said.

Earlier, a plot had been allotted to the Hindu Community for the construction of a temple, a community centre and a crematorium, according to vernacular media reports, as quoted by ANI.

The federal cabinet had instructed the CDA to cancel all allotments in 'Green Areas' if construction has not been done, ANI reported.

Earlier last month, thieves stole away three silver necklaces and cash from a Hindu temple in Pakistan's Kotri town, just days before the minority members of the country observed the Diwali festival.
