Nepal: Women-only bus starts in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Jan 5 (IBNS) A microbus service has been started only for women in Nepal's Kathmandu city, media reports said.

The service was started from Sunday .

"On Sunday, the operators unveiled four microbuses which will ply on the Kalanki-Balkot route during office hours," The Kathmandu Post reported.

The service will be working from 9am to 11am and 3pm to 5pm.

“This is a great initiative shown by the transport entrepreneurs to ensure ease to women commuters,”  Tulasi Sitaula, secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport was quoted as saying to The Kathmandu Post .
