Nepal floods: Death toll touches 66, 35 missing

Kathmandu, Aug 14 (IBNS): The death toll in the floods and landslides triggered by the torrential rainfall in different parts of Nepal has touched 66, media reports said.

The calamity has left 35 others missing.

Hundreds of families have been displaced after the floodwater gushed into the human settlement in most parts of Tarai region, The Himlayan Times reported.

Panchthar, Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Sirah Sarlahi, Rautahat, Mahottari, Dhanusha, Sindhuli, Bara, Parsa, Makawanpur, Chitwan and Lalitpur have been badly hit by floods and landslides in the state.

Rescue and recovery operations are going on in the affected areas.
