Korean denuclearisation: Trump says no time limit, to not rush Kim Jong-un

Washington/Pyongyang, July 18 (IBNS): US President Doanld Trump has said on Tuesday that he will not be rushing North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to denuclearise the Korean Peninsula.

Softening his stance, Trump told reporters: "We have no time limit. We have no speed limit."

"Discussions are ongoing, and they're going very, very well."

However, the US President informed the reporters that US will maintain the sanctions against North Korea, while stating that present relations between the two countries 'are very good'.

"The sanctions are remaining. The hostages are back. There have been no tests. There have been no rockets going up for a period of nine months, and I think the relationships are very good, so we'll see how that goes," he said.

Trump's latest comments contradicts his previous comments on the same subject.

Following his meeting with Kim Jong-un last month, the US President had informed reports that the denuclearisation process would start without delay.

The US President's change of heart also comes a week after North Korea accused America of making gangster-like demands.
