Kidnapping of envoy's daughter: Afghanistan govt recalls envoy from Pakistan

Kabul/UNI: Afghan President Ghani on Monday announced his decision to recall the Afghan envoy and other Afghan diplomats from Islamabad over the kidnapping incident of the Afghan envoy's daughter.

Silsila Alikhil, the daughter of the Afghan ambassador in Islamabad, Najibullah Alikhil was kidnapped, tortured and later released this past Friday, as per the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The incident took place in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad.

Presidential adviser Waheed Omer demanded on Sunday that the kidnappers of the ambassador’s daughter must be booked and the safety of Afghan diplomats in Pakistan must be ensured.
