Karachi: TTP claims responsibility for ASF academy attack

Karachi, June 10 (IBNS): The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack at the Airport Security Force (ASF) academy adjacent to old Karachi airport on Tuesday, after Sunday's attack at the Jinnah International Airport here leaving at least 28 people including 10 militants, dead, reports said.
No casualties were reported in the second attack near airport.
 
The attackers managed to flee as a heavy contingent of security forces reached ASF camp number 2, Pakistan's Dawn.com reported.
 
Search operation is underway at the ASF academy, which is located in Bhitai Abad, Pehlwan Goth.
 
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) spokesperson Asim Bajwa tweeted: "#Kci Airport:Latest update;3 to 4 terrorists fired near ASF Camp,ran away.No breach of fence,no Entry.Chase is on,situation under control."
 
According to reports, flight operations resumed after being temporarily suspended and routes leading to the airport were cleared for traffic.

Firing was heard from two locations.
 
The firing reportedly stopped around 1.30 pm.
