Japan reports 63 more cases of COVID-19, 1,137 in total

Tokyo/Xinhua/UNI: The number of the COVID-19 infections in Japan rose to 1,137 as of 7:00 pm local time on Saturday, an increase of 63 cases from a day earlier.

Among the 1,137 cases, 696 are from the Diamond Princess cruise ship moored in the port city of Yokohama, public broadcaster NHK reported.

The tally is based on data compiled by the health ministry and local governments. Among them, 12 people have died, six of them from the cruise ship.

By prefecture, Hokkaido has the most cases at 98. It is followed by Aichi with 62, Tokyo with 58, Kanagawa with 41 and Osaka with 31.
