Islamabad/IBNS: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday wished Canadian PM Justin Trudeau as his party won the general polls in the country.

Khan said he is looking forward to work with him.

He tweeted: "Congratulations to Justin Trudeau for winning the elections in Canada. I look forward to working with him."

Liberal Party leader Justin Trudeau is all set to become the Canadian Prime Minister for the second term but will lead a minority government as the results of the General Elections came out on Monday, media reports said.

The main battle in Canada was between Trudeau and Conservative leader Andrew Scheer.

The Liberal Party of Canada has won in 158 districts in the national election, with at least 170 having been required for a majority government, preliminary data from the Commissioner of Canada Elections shows.

With preliminary polling data from all 338 electoral districts processed, the Liberal Party has 33.6 per cent of the votes, while the Conservative Party of Canada has 34.1 per cent.

The Conservative Party has secured victory in 119 districts.
