Beijing/IBNS: China has confirmed the first human case of H3N8 strain of the avian flu, media reports said.

The case was reported in the Henan province on Apr 26.

A four-year-old boy has tested positive for the particular strain being directly injected by birds, the National Health Commission of China stated.

He was hospitalised with mild fever and some symptoms earlier this month.

Reports say the boy's family raised chickens at home and also lives in a wild duck populated area.
