Canadian citizenship for Indians goes up by 50 percent

New Delhi/Ottawa, Dec 26 (IBNS): Canadian citizenship for Indians has gone up by 50 percent in last one year, a report published on The Times Of India said.

On request by The Times Of India, Canadian authorities shared some statistics on the matter.

During a period of 10 months ending in October 2018, close to 15,000-odd Indians took up Canadian citizenship.

The figure in 2018 stood at 50 percent more as compared to last year.

The number of citizenship granted to Indians in 2017 was 9,992.

Between January and October, the same figure went up to 15,016.

In terms of Canadian citizenship granted, Philippines tops the list with 15,642 in 2018.
