Canada: Ontario observes National Indigenous History Month

| @indiablooms | Jun 02, 2022, at 03:17 am

Toronto/IBNS: The month of June every year is observed as a National Indigenous History Month, a time for all Ontarians to recognize the rich and diverse histories and honour the current realities of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across the province and Canada.

The observation of this day is an important opportunity and raises awareness to learn more about the distinct cultures, languages, and experiences of Indigenous peoples, and how our province and country have been continued to shape due to their contributions and achievements.

All Ontarians are being encouraged by the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs to utilize the many available online resources not only to participate in events and activities but also to learn more about and celebrate the diverse cultures and heritage of Indigenous peoples that contribute to making Ontario a great place to live.
