At least two people died after a blast rocked Board Bazaar in Pakistan's Peshawar city on Sunday, media reports said.

The blast reportedly left one person injured.

Rescue 1122 Spokesperson Bilal Faizi confirmed the death toll and injuries to Dawn News.

The deceased and the injured were rushed to Khyber Teaching Hospital.

Security forces have cordoned off the blast site.

Speaking to the media, Peshawar Senior Superintendent of Police (Operation) Kashif Aftab Abbasi told Dawn News that teams of the Counter Terrorism Department and other law enforcement agencies had arrived at the site and were collecting evidence.

“We have found an almost mutilated body and a damaged motorcycle here,” he said.

KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur took notice of the incident and sought a report from the provincial police chief.

Pakistan has been witnessing an uptick in terror attacks in recent months.
