Dhaka, Mar 18 (IBNS): Days after New Zealand witnessed a terror attack incident, Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina and her Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau on Monday spoke and urged the global community to unite and fight against terrorism.

Trudeau called Hasina on Monday morning and the two spoke for about 20 minutes, Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim was quoted as saying by bdnews24.

The Canadian PM, while speaking with Hasina, condemned the recent terror attack in two mosques in New Zealand which killed at least 50 people.

The deceased included Bangladeshi nationals as well.

Trudeau was relieved that the Bangladesh cricket team, who were in Christchurch and narrowly avoided the attack, had escaped unharmed, Karim was quoted as saying by the Bangladeshi news porta.

“The two prime ministers have urged the global community to unite to fight against terrorism,” he told bdnews24.

The terror attack on mosques left the world shocked and several world leaders, including Hasina, condemned it.

The main suspect in the incident has been arrested.
