Kabul: At least three people died in a traffic mishap in Kofaab district of Afghanistan, media reports said on Sunday.

Esanullah Kamgar, the spokesperson of the police in Badakhshan province on Sunday, June 11, confirmed to Khaama Press the incident and said the road accident took place in the Kofaab district of the province.

The mishap took place when a Toyota Datsun deviated from the road and fell into the valley, resulting in the death of three people who were in the vehicle.

The recent rise in the number of road incidents is directly linked to careless driving, lack of paved roads, poorly maintained vehicles and failure to abide by the traffic laws according to officials as quoted by Khaama Press.
