| @indiablooms | May 15, 2019, at 04:23 pm

Moscow, May 15 (Sputnik/UNI) At least seven Taliban militants were killed in a series of airstrikes in the Afghan southern province of Zabul and southeastern province of Ghazni over the past 24 hours, local media reported on Wednesday, citing military sources.

Afghan anti-government armed groups, including Taliban, have not commented on these airstrikes so far, the Khaama news agency reported.

Afghanistan is suffering from an unstable political, social and security situation due to the activity of the Taliban movement and the Islamic State terrorist group (banned in Russia). The national security forces, supported by the international coalition, are involved in counterterrorist operations across the country.

The international efforts aimed at settling the conflict have not resulted in any significant progress yet.
