Kabul: People in different provinces across Afghanistan on Wednesday chanted the slogan "Allahu Akbar" (God is the greatest) to show their support for the Armed forces fighting against Taliban, media reports.

The rallies where people shouted the slogan started in Herat province of the country first and now similar incidents have been reported from different corners of the war-torn country.

In the latest waves of support, Afghans in Kapisa, Baghlan, Nuristan and Sar-e-Pul provinces chanted the slogan to show support for the Afghan forces, reports Tolo News.

“The people of Balkhab are always ready, they will act against all aggressors including the Taliban,” a resident in Sar-e-Pul province told Tolo News.

“We will defend the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Constitution,” a resident in Samangan told the news portal.

Kabul resident Fawad Raiskhel told the news portal: "It indicates that the people support ANDSDF and they are tired of the war, this is totally a people's movement."

The Afghanistan security forces are engaged in a battle against Taliban in different arts of the country.

Afghanistan has witnessed a resurgence of violence in recent times ever since foreign forces started leaving the country.

The Taliban has reportedly captured several regions in the country.
