Kabul/IBNS: At least four people were killed as a blast rocked Sher Shah Suri Mosque in Kart-e-Char area in the west of Afghanistan's capital city Kabul on Friday, media reports said.

According to reports, the blast occured when people were assembling in the mosque for Friday prayer.

Among the four killed was the imam of the mosque, Azizullah Mofleh, according to the Ministry of Interior Affairs, reports Tolo News.

The explosives were reportedly placed inside the mosque.

The explosion comes after an IED blast in Wazir Akbar Khan Mosque in downtown Kabul on June 2 in which the imam of the mosque, Mohammad Ayaz Niazi, was killed, reports the Afghanistan-based news portal.
