Afghanistan: At least 37 Taliban militants killed in joint operations

Kabul, Jan 18 (IBNS): At least 37 Taliban insurgents, including eight top leaders, have been killed in joint operations by the Afghan army, local Khaama Press reported.

The operations were carried out in several province of the country in the last 24 hours.

Urozgan, Kapisa, Herat, Kunduz, Kunar, Baghlan and Helmand were among the provinces where the operations were carried out.  

Two Pakistani insurgents were also  among the 37 killed.

The operations also left 14 insurgents injured  and led to the arrest of three, including a Pakistani national, the agency quoted Afghan Ministry of Defence as saying.
