New Delhi: Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Saturday said MS Dhoni, the iconic captain who announced his retirement from international cricket, his performance on the field will remain in the hearts of his fans across the country.
"Every cricketer has to end his journey one day, but still when someone you've gotten to know so closely announces that decision, you feel the emotion much more. What you've done for the country will always remain in everyone's heart," Kohli tweeted.

Ending a glorious chapter in the history of Indian cricket, MS Dhoni retired from international cricket on Saturday.
His last outing in the Indian jersey was the semi-final clash between India and New Zealand in the World Cup last year.
MS Dhoni will be remembered for his fight he had put up in the match with Ravindra Jadeja before he was run out, ending India's hope of reaching the final.
Dhoni is still expected to be seen in the Indian Premier League. He will play for Chennai Super Kings.
39-year-old Dhoni has played 350 ODI games, 90 Tests and 98 T20 games in his career.
Since making his ODI debut in 2004, Dhoni rose to fame first as a finisher and then emerged as one of the best captains the country has ever produced.
Under his leadership, India clinched the 2007 World Twenty20 title, the 2011 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy.
He had even guided India to the top of the International Cricket Council Test ranking, before announcing his retirement from the longest format of the game in 2014 during India's tour to Australia, ahead of the 2015 World Cup.
Dhoni silently passed the baton to the young Virat Kohli, who was then dominating the 22 yards with his stylish batting skills.
In his 90 Test matches, Dhoni scored 4,876 runs.
Dhoni was appointed as Indian skipper in 2007 for the World T20 and with a young squad he had stunned the world by winning the inaugural edition of the tournament.
During his career, he captained India in 322 international matches - 200 in ODIs, 60 in Tests and 72 in T20.
His 110 ODI victories is just behind former Australian captain Ricky Ponting's 165.
