Wait and watch: Dhoni on if he would quit as captain

London, Aug 18 (IBNS): Indian skipper MS Dhoni on Sunday asked all to "wait and watch" when asked if he would give up captaincy after the drubbing in the England series.

"You will have to wait and watch to find out whether I am strong enough to cope with this loss or not," he told journalists when asked if he would step down as captain.

Dhoni said the performance of the lower-order 'blurred' the performance of the top order in the first two Tests of the series against England.

England defeated India by an innings and 244 runs int he fifth and final match to clinch the series 3-1.

"Right from the start, our batsmen never really performed, the lower order helped out and that blurred the performance of the top order," Dhoni said.

He said the Indian batsmen lost confidence as the series progressed.

"We have lost a lot of confidence over the five-Test series. It is disappointing. There will be many experiences which the youngsters will learn as not too many have played Tests away from home and hopefully they can take that it into the future," the skipper said.
