T20 World Cup: Afghanistan-Ireland match abandoned due to rain

| @indiablooms | Oct 28, 2022, at 06:38 pm

The Afghanistan-Ireland match in the T20 World Cup was washed out due to rain without a single ball being bowled at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne Friday.

Both the teams have been awarded one point.

With the single point, Ireland, who had earlier stunned England pulling off a win, moved to the second spot in Group 1 standings.

Afghanistan, whose previous match against New Zealand was also abandoned, are at the bottom of the table.

While Ireland will next face Australia in Brisbane Monday, Afghanistan's upcoming outing is against Sri Lanka on the same venue Tuesday.
