Bengaluru, Oct 27 (IBNS) Cricketer Amit Mishra was on Tuesday arrested by the police in Bengaluru on the charge of assaulting a woman. He was released on bail after three hours of questioning, reports said.

The woman, identified by police as Vandana, has accused the 32-year-old Indian right-arm spinner of assaulting her with a kettle at a luxury hotel on September 25.

The Mumbai-based film producer has said in her complaint she had known the cricketer for three years and had gone to meet him at the hotel when he allegedly assaulted her.

The  police issued a notice to Mishra earlier this month and asked him to give his statements.
