South Africa beat India by 18 runs in 3rd ODI, take 2-1 lead

Rajkot, Oct 18 (IBNS) A brilliant 103 by Quinton de Kock helped South Africa beat India by 18 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the ongoing series on Sunday.

In the third ODI match of the series, India were restricted to 252 for six after South Africa posted 270 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 50 overs.

Rohit Sharma (65), Virat Kohli (77) and MS Dhoni (47) put up a brave fight but could not manage to reach the target at the end of the clash.

Dhoni and Kohli battled at the crease with their third wicket partnership of 80 runs but Morne Morkel got rid off both the players to shatter all hopes for the former World Champions.

Kohli looked in form as he smashed five boundaries in his 99 -ball knock.

At the top of the run chase, Kohli smashed seven boundaries and two sixes to give some momentum.

J PDuminy showed him the path towards the pavilion as India were reduced to 2-113.

Morkel remained the pick of the African bowlers as he picked up four wickets in his spell of 10 overs.

Quinton de Kock smashed 103 which helped South Africa post 270 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs in the third ODI match of the ongoing series against India on Sunday.

Knock smashed 11 boundaries and a six in his knock while Faf du Plessis hit 60.

Mohit Sharma took two wickets in the match for India.
