Serena beats Johanna Konta to reach Australian Open semis

Melbourne, Jan 25 (IBNS): US Tennis star Serena Williams displayed her strength as she defeated UK player Johanna Konta to reach the semi-finals of the Australian Open women's doubles title.

Williams defeated 6-2 6-3 in the quarter-finals.

In the semi-final, the US star will face Croatia's unseeded Mirjana Lucic-Baroni.

Mirjana Lucic-Baroni has defeated Czech Karolina Plisokva 6-4 3-6 6-4 to reach the semi-finals.

Serena and Venus Williams are likely to face in the finals of the tournament.

Venus will play the other semi-finals against CoCo Vandeweghe of the USA.

Wins by both the sisters in the semi-finals with make them set for a final clash for the title.
