Saina Nehwal clinches Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold title

New Delhi, Jan 22 (IBNS): Indian Badminton star Saina Nehwal on Sunday started her 2017 journey with a win as he clinched the Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold in Sibu.

She defeated Thailand's Pornpawee Chochuwong in the final clash.

The final scoreline read 22-20, 22-20 in Saina's favour.

She had last won the Australian Open in June 2016.

Indian Sports Minister Vijay Goel wished her and tweeted: "On behalf of my entire Ministry, I congratulate @NSaina on winning the 2017 Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold Keep winning, keep inspiring!"

BAI Media said: "Indian masterclass! Saina Nehwal wins the #MalaysiaGPG and starts 2017 with a bang! Way to go champ! ."
