Ricky Ponting Headlines Executive Leadership Program for Indian business

New Delhi, Sept 8 (IBNS): Former Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting today visited Mumbai – “his second home” – to help launch an exciting education initiative between BSchool and its partner, the Australian School of Applied Management (ASAM), and the Tasmanian Government.

Ponting was joined at the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar by Tasmanian Premier, The Hon. Will Hodgman, in announcing the BSchool Executive Leadership Program, a program customised for overseas participants, which will be hosted in Tasmania in 2017.

Indian organisations seeking a unique approach to developing their leaders can undertake a residential five-day experience anchored on hands-on exposure to proud Tasmanian native Ponting and his fellow mentors, other top Australian leaders from business, government, sport and non-profit.

“I am very honoured to be involved in the launch of this program into India,” Ponting said.

“Over recent years, India has become my second home through my coaching role with the Mumbai Indians. I know this BSchool Executive Leadership Program will give attendees the most powerful first person learning experience.

“I’m really looking forward to playing my role in the Program, while welcoming Indian business people to Tasmania next year.”

Premier Hodgman has long promoted his State as a champion of initiative, and this Program launch further enhances his objective of positioning Tasmania as a legitimate choice in the global education marketplace.

The course is based on the successful ASAM model, with the BSchool mentoring approach adding a new dimension for Indian participants who are expected to range from CEOs to senior to middle management. Course modules include such as “Team Dynamics”, “Leading Innovation & Change”, and “Strategic Thinking & Organisational Learning”.

Leaders such as Ponting add first-hand their wealth of leadership experience and its application in the workplace or team environment, making this course unique in its access to high profile, successful role models.

And the course has further benefits for participants, counting as formal credit for 25% of a “Masters in Leadership” with one of Australia’s leading educational institutions, Monash University, a top 100 university in the world.
