R Ashwin breaks Kapil Dev's record

Pune, Feb 24 (IBNS): Indian spinner R Ashwin on Friday set a record as he broke Kapil Dev's long standing record of most Test wickets taken in a season by an Indian bowler.

He picked up 64 wickets in the ongoign season.

He moved passed Dev's 63 wickets record in the Test season.

Dev had taken 63 wickets during the home season of 1979-80.

The record was set during the second day's match between India and England.
