Pink Ball Test: Rishabh Pant counter attacks after Australian bowlers destroy Indian batting lineup

| @indiablooms | Dec 07, 2024, at 05:45 pm

Rishabh Pant (28*) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (15*) remain the last hope for India after Australia reduced the visitors to 128 runs for the loss of five wickets in the second innings of the ongoing Pink Ball Test on Saturday.

India still trail Australia by 29 runs.

Australian bowlers once again shined the rocked the Indian batting lineup that struggled in front of sharp bowling by hosts.

Mitchell Starc picked up a wicket while Pat Cummins and Scott Boland scalped two wickets each to destroy the Indian batting lineup.
Yashasvi Jaiswal (24) and Shubman Gill (28) failed to covert the start they made to their innings, leaving India struggling.
Virat Kohli (11) and Rohit Sharma (6) failed to shine once again and departed early.

Rishabh Pant tried to bounce back after a batting debacle with his counter-attacking unbeaten 28.

Trying to break the pressure imposed by bowlers, the wicketkeeper-batsman showcased his trademark audacity, including an emphatic charge against Boland and a falling hook shot to fine leg.

Riding on Travis Head's 140 runs knock, Australia put up a dominant show
to post 337 all out in their first innings.

Head, well-supported by Marnus Labuschagne’s gritty 64, punished India’s bowlers despite a spirited performance by bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
