Pink Ball Test: India 233/6 at stumps on day 1 against Australia

Adelaide/UNI: Australia reduced India to 233/6 at stumps on the opening day of the day-night First Test here at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday.

Wriddhiman Saha and Ravichandran Ashwin were batting on 9 and 15 respectively at close of play on Day 1.

Skipper Virat Kohli top-scored for India with 74 before getting run out. He featured in two fifty-plus runs partnerships – an 88-run stand with Ajinkya Rahane (42) for the fourth wicket and a 68-run stand with Cheteshwar Paujara (43).

From a comfortable 188 for 3, India slumped to 206 for 6 as Kohli, Rahane and Hanuma Vihari (16) got out in quick succession in the last session of the day.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Wriddhiman Saha took the innings to the end of the day, with India to resume their batting on day 2 from 233/6 in 89 overs.
