One-off Test: Mahmudullah holds fort, India five away from another win
Holding fort for Bangladesh is Mahmudullah Riyad, who stitched a 56-run partnership with skipper Rahim after Ravindra Jadeja picked up Shakib Al Hasan early in the day.
Rahim however gave away his wicket following a flurry of shots against Ravichandran Ashwin.
The offspinner had the last laugh as he induced the Bangladeshi skipper to come down the track and chip one straight to Ravindra Jadeja for an easy catch.
Rahim's innings of 23 runs from 44 balls consisted off two fours and a six.
Al Hasan, who was caught off Jadeja managed to contribute 22 runs, managing to hit four of the 50 deliveries he faced.
Riyad, who forged another unbeaten 40-run partnership with Sabbir Rahman, is unbeaten at 58 runs.
Rahman (18) will resume the innings alongside Riyad when play starts in the post lunch session.
Bangladesh still requires 257 runs, while India will look to pick up the remaining five wickets to seal another Test win and cement their place on the top of the ICC list.
For India, Ravichandran Ashwin is leading the bowling charts with three scalps, followed closely by Ravindra Jadeja, who accounted for the remaining two.
