New Zealand win toss, opt to field first against India in Champions Trophy clash

| @indiablooms | Mar 02, 2025, at 02:33 pm

New Zealand won the toss and opted to field first against India in their last Group A stage match in Dubai on Sunday, a week after Men in Blue defeated arch-rivals Pakistan on the same ground to reach the semi-finals of the ongoing Champions Trophy.

The match assumes significance since it marks Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli's 300th ODI match.

He returned to form last week in the match against Pakistan when he hit a century to ensure India won against the neighbours.

This was the thirteenth consecutive time India lost the toss in ODIs.

Spinner Varun Chakravarthy was added to the final XI, replacing pacer Harshit Rana.
