Dubai/IBNS: New tickets for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final at the MCG were officially released for sale on Tuesday.

Fans now have only five days to secure their seats for what will be an historic sporting occasion, with pop superstar Katy Perry performing live before and after the match this Sunday 8 March, International Women’s Day.

The new tickets released include Category A and Category B tickets, which were previously exhausted. These tickets have been made available as partner allocations, camera positions and sight screens have been confirmed, and means as many fans as possible will have the opportunity to be part of the event.

As of last week, already more than 50,000 tickets had been snapped up to the final. Melbourne, often referred to as ‘the sporting capital of the world’, is getting closer to filling the MCG.

The nationwide festival of cricket has set new benchmarks, including the highest attendance at a standalone women’s cricket match in Australia, when 13,432 attended the opening clash between Australia and India at Sydney Showground Stadium on Friday 21 February. Record attendances for women’s cricket matches have been set in Perth and Canberra.

The final in Melbourne presents an opportunity to #FILLTHEMCG and set a new record for attendance at a women’s sporting fixture ever. The current record is 90,185, set at the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup final between the USA and China at the Rose Bowl in California.

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final will begin at 6:00PM AEDT, with fans urged to be in their seats by 5:00PM to experience the full pre-game show featuring Katy Perry. The global music icon will return for a post-match concert after the on-field presentation.

Family-friendly ticket prices start from just $20* for adults and all children’s tickets are only $5* at t20worldcup.com.
