Mumbai Indians beat Hyderabad by 7 wickets

Hyderabad, May 12 (IBNS): In the 36th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Lendl Simmons and Ambati Rayudu's individual 68 runs knocks helped Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets here on Monday.

Chasing Hyderabad's 157 for three, Mumbai reached 160 by losing three wickets with eight balls to spare.

Simmons, who hammered five boundaries and four sixes, in his 50-ball 68 runs innings crafted a solid foundation at the top of the innings for Mumbai after Chidhambaram Gautam (1) departed early.

Rayudu, who also scored 68 runs, added 130 runs in the second wicket partnership with Simmons and helped the side reach closer to the target.

Though both the batsmen were out int he 16th and 17th overs of the match respectively, Rohit Sharma (14*) and Kieron Pollard (6*) reached the target easily.

Hyderabad earlier posted 157 for three on the scoreboard.

Aaron Finch remained the top scorer for the side with his 68.

He hit seven boundaries and two sixes in his knock.

David Warner later played a flamboyant unbeaten knock of 31-ball 55 which helped Hyderabad post 157 on the scoreboard.

Lasith Malinga picked up two wickets for Mumbai.
