The Men's Selection Committee announced the squad for the upcoming IDFC First Bank 5-match T20I series against Australia scheduled to start on November 23 in Visakhapatnam.

The selectors are giving scope for next-gen players, with three senior players Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Prasidh Krishn, who got fewer matches at the World Cup, have been included in the T20 series against Australia.

Most of the senior players have been rested after a hectic World Cup campaign. However, Shreyas Iyer will join the Suryakumar-led side for the last two T20Is in Raipur and Bengaluru as he will take over the reins of vice-captaincy from Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Bowling allrounder Axar Patel has been recalled after he missed the World Cup due to a left quadriceps injury.

However, he participated in last month's Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he played two matches against Punjab and Railways.

India squad: Suryakumar Yadav (Captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad (vice captain), Ishan Kishan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Shivam Dubey, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar.
