Mandate of the Football Association of Maldives’ normalisation committee extended

Zurich, Nov 1 (IBNS) The FIFA Emergency Committee decided on Friday in consultation with the AFC, to extend the mandate of the normalisation committee of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) until Dec 31, so as to enable FAM to complete the registration process of its statutes with the authorities and organise the elective congress, which had originally been scheduled for Oct 22 and had to be postponed.

Additionally, it has been decided to replace Mohamed Hussain with Ahmed Shakyb, who will also take over the vice-chairmanship of the committee.

The FAM normalisation committee’s new composition will be as follows:

Mr Mohamed Shaweed, chairman
Mr Ahmed Shakyb, deputy chairman
Mr Abdul Hameed Abdul Gahfoor, member
Mr Ali Umar, member
Mr Faseeh Zahir, member
