Lucknow hosting first international T20 match

Lucknow, Nov 6 (IBNS): Creating history, Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh is hosting the first T20 International match in the history of the city.

It had hosted an international cricket match 24 years ago.

India and West Indies are facing each other in the second T20 match of the series here on Tuesday.

The match is played in the  Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.

The stadium also became the 52nd International Cricket Venue in the country.

India are 1-0 up in the series.

Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association tweeted: "The last international cricket match Lucknow hosted was 24 years ago. Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium becomes India's 52nd International Cricket Venue. Wishing both teams @BCCI & @windiescricket best of luck for the 2nd T20I #INDvWI."
