Rosario, Jul 1 (IBNS): Argentine Footballer and Barcelona legend Lionel Messi tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Antonella Roccuzzo in his hometown Rosario.

The wedding has been hailed in the local press as the 'Wedding of the Century'.

Messi, a renowned footballer, met Rocuzzo when he was just five years old.

The couple have two sons and now live in Barcelona.

Among the 260 guests were footballers and celebrities, including Colombian pop star Shakira, who attended the event with her husband and footballer Gerard Pique.

However, the lists omitted Messi's past and present coaches.

One significant omission from the list was Diego Maradona, the Argentine legend and former national manager of the national team.
