Jamaica, Aug 1 (IBNS): Young KL Rahul showed his brilliance as an opener as he smashed 158 runs to help India take 162 runs lead against West Indies on the second day of the second Test here on Sunday.

With West Indies bowled out for 196 runs in their first innings, India are comfortably standing at 358 for five at the end of the second day as

Wriddhiman Saha (17*) and Ajinkya Rahane (42*) will resume the proceedings on the third day morning after remaining unbeaten at sumps.

Getting a chance in the team to replace injured Murali Vijay in the second Test,Rahul showed his potential to serve India for a long time as batsman smashed 15 boundaries and three sixes in his 303-ball knock.

Shannon Gabriel picked up his wicket to stop the proceedings.

Cheteshwar Pujara  (46) and Virat Kohli (44) made some important contributions with their willows.

West Indies bowlers mostly struggled to give some competition to their opponents but it was

Roston Chase who remained the pick of the bowlers as he took two wickets.

India lead the four-match series 1-0.
