Jammu and Kashmir: Arm-wrestling competition held in Nowgam,Handwara

Srinagar:  Army’s 17 Infantry Brigade Nowgam in north Kashmir’s Handwara on Friday organised aarm-wrestling competition in which local youth participated.

Scores of spectators thronged the scene and supported the participants.

The final match of the tournament was played between Khan Mohalla and GamanderMohalla, however team Gamandar Mohlla led by Tariq Ahmad Shikeh bagged the title.At the occasion the officers of 17 Infantry Brigade awarded the winning team with cashand trophies.

Army officer while addressing the participants at the occasion elaborated the aim of gameand said the motive behind the tournament is to engage to local youth towards sportsactivities and prevent them from indulging in drug trade.

Sarpanch Nowgam Nayeem u Rehman, Lamberdar, Army Goodwill School (AGS) staffand other respected citizens of the area were present at the occasion.
