IPL: Kings XI Punjab beat Sunrisers

Hyderabad, May 14 (IBNS): Kings XI Punjab is the only team to dominate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season this year as they thrashed Sunrisers Hyderbad in a nerve crunching game here on Wednesday.

Chasing, Sunrisers' massive 205 for five, Kings reached 211 by losing four wickets with eight balls in hand.

The credit for the win goes to five players specially to skipper

George Bailey, whose 19-ball unbeaten 35, and David Miller's 24 no added 52 runs in the fifth wicket partnership to reach the target.

Bailey hammered two boundaries and three sixes in his knock.


Up the order, it was Manan Vohra (47) and Wriddhiman Saha (54) who added 92 runs in the second wicket partnership which proved to be crucial at the end.

Glenn Maxwell's good performance in the series continued as he added 43 runs off 22 balls, hitting two boundaries and five sixes.

Amit Mishra, Karn Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar  picked a wicket each for the local side.

Earlier riding on Naman Ojha's 36-ball 79 runs knock, which was laced by four boundaries and seven sixes, Sunrisers scored 205 for five.

Shikhar Dhawan (45) and David Warner (44) made some useful contributions with their willows.

Rishi Dhawan took two wickets for Punjab.
