Dubai/UNI:  BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has lauded young RCB opener Devdutt Padikkal, who made a sensational IPL debut against SRH and helped his team won their first match of the 2020 edition.

During his debut innings, Padikkal showed his class and scored 56 off 42, playing a crucial role in RCB's 10 run victory over SRH on Monday.

Notably, the young batsman had also previously scored half-centuries in his first-class, List A and T20 debut.

"Enjoyed watching devdutt padikal @RCBTweets ..left-handers grace so delightful," tweeted Ganguly who himself was an attacking left-handed opener in his playing days.

The 20-year old Karnataka batsman came into the spotlight after scoring 580 runs in Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament in 2019. He was the leading run getter in the tournament by a big margin and scored the runs at an average of 64 and a whopping strike rate of above 175.
