Indian women beat China to lift 4th Asian Champions Trophy

Singapore, Nov 5 (IBNS): Dominating the hockey paradigm in Asia, India defeated China 2-1 in the final encounter of the 4th Asian Champions Trophy to clinch the title.

This is the first-time the Indian women’s team have won the Asian Champions Trophy.

India’s first PC of the game was earned in the 13th minute.

Deep Grace Ekka perfectly send the ball past the Chinese keeper to help India take 1-0 lead in the match.

Going into the second quarter, India dominated the game and prevented China from scoring the equalizer.

China’s Mengling Zhong finally penetrate the Indian circle to score a quick field goal in the third quarter of the game.


The entire nation cheered aloud, Deepika Thakur was able to convert a sensational goal with just 30 seconds to go for the final hooter,taking India to 2-1 lead.
