Indian para-shuttler Krishna Nagar wins country's 5th gold at Tokyo Paralympics

Tokyo/IBNS: Indian para shuttler Krishna Nagar won the fifth Gold Medal for the country at the Tokyo paralympics on Sunday.

He won the match after defeating Man Kai Chu of Hong Kong in three games: 21-17, 16-21 & 21-17.

Congratulating Krishna, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: "Happy to see our Badminton players excel at the Tokyo #Paralympics. The outstanding feat of @Krishnanagar99 has brought smiles on the faces of every Indian. Congratulations to him for winning the Gold Medal. Wishing him the very best for his endeavours ahead. #Praise4Para."

Krishna bagged the medal in Men's Single SH6 category.

With his win, India have now extended its medal tally to 19 - five gold, eight silver and six bronze medals at the ongoing Paralympic Games.
